I encountered this poem this past week. I say encounter rather than read because it was an experience for me. The words of the poem spoke to the power of such a unique state of being.
These words speak to a state of being that is special and rare. A state of understanding, calm, and certainty.
Understanding in the meaning of the moment.
Calm in the silence.
Certainty in the absence of words.
We often become so consumed by the rush of life that we forget this particular state of being. We forget what it is like to be able to sit with our partner without words…to just sit with and be on par.
Words sometimes get in the way. Words distract us from really seeing each other. Words convince us that they have to be there.
It is okay when our words run dry. When we do not have anything to say or choose not to say anything. It can be an opportunity to connect on a different level. To realize that you can just be without words.
To accept and love each other. To not let the rush of life get in the way.

I totally disagree. I find your interpretation interesting. I see this poem as depressing. Two people just existing together with no connection whatsoever. The passion is totally gone. They just are.
